All About Mrs. Koopman!

Hi!  My name is Sherry Koopman and I am a fourth grade teacher at Dell Rapids Elementary School!

I grew up on a farm near Chandler, Minnesota.  Chandler is a very small town (approx. 280 people) in Southwest Minnesota.  It is known for the F5 tornado that destroyed half of the town on June 16, 1992.  

I received my education from Chandler Christian School and Southwest Christian High School.  I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA, with degrees in Elementary Education and K-6 Music.  In 2006, a master's degree as a reading specialist was earned from the University of Sioux Falls.  As an educator in the Dell Rapids Public School District, I have experience teaching fourth, third, and first grade. 

My family lives in Colton.  My husband, Monte, works as a service technician for Koopman and Sons Gas Company.  We have three children ~ Lisa, Ethan, & Gerrit.  They are the joy of our lives!  

I enjoy walking, playing the piano, being outside, and spending time with family and friends.  Some other favorites include country music, the "Friends" sitcoms, soft-serve ice cream, chocolate, motorcycle rides, and John Deere tractors!
